| Katy Perry was scheduled to perform this week at the 11-11 Global Shopping Festival Gala in Shenzhen.
Yet she's revealed on Weibo that 'Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency,' according to Bang Showbiz.
The 32-year-old went on: 'I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon'.
Alibaba have put together the Singles' Day event in the epicentre of China's tech industry. On Thursday, Forbes anticipated the Gala as 'the largest single day consumer event in history.'
In their statement on Perry's cancellation, Alibaba admitted that they themselves 'and all of her fans in China are naturally very disappointed.'
They offered the Roar singer 'our best wishes at this difficult time, and hope that we can see her in China soon.' |
