A cassette-full of Prince rarities has been bought for over $4,000 on Discogs.
Breaking the record for the most expensive cassette tape sold on the website, 'The Versace Experience – Prelude 2 Gold', contains edits and remixes and was given to people at the Versace show during Paris Fashion Week in 1995.
21 years after it was first doing the rounds, as a prelude to the singer's 'The Gold Experience' album, it was snapped up for $4,087 by a keen Prince follower in August.
The value's almost double the previous record holder, a boxset of Throbbing Gristle material that went for $2,200.
Back in May, it was revealed that the artist, who died in April, supposedly has enough unreleased music to release an album for the next 100 years. |
