'It's down to our kid!': Liam Gallagher says brother Noel is the only one 'holding back Oasis from a reunion' His departure from Oasis in 2009 signaled the end of the band, and a family feud to rival their hits in the fame stakes. And it seems that despite their fan base clamouring for a reunion, Noel Gallagher is the main reason the Manchester rockers are yet to make a return to the stage. According to his brother Liam, 44, the High Flying Birds frontman is the only one who can get the band to reform, saying emphatically: 'It's down to our kid'. Taking part in a Q&A session for Radio X in Manchester on Sunday night, the singer made a point of telling host Johnny Vaughan the ball was firmly in Noel's court. Despite his own lack of solo success Liam proclaimed it was all down to Noel, and their very public spat had nothing to do with the band's failure to reform. Quizzed on the prospect of an Oasis reunion the outspoken star said: 'I mean it’s like, I’m here, I’m ready to go. I mean our kid bangs on as if I’ve stabbed his f***ing cat. 'He wants to be in a solo band. If people think me having a dig on Twitter is what's stopping the band getting back together, they're mad.'
