| While fabric is currently closed, the club's long-running mix series is still operating and Nina Kraviz is the latest to step up.
Kraviz’s 'fabric 91' is a blend of unreleased and rare gems spanning IDM, techno, electronica and ambient. Much of the unreleased music is from her own Trip label, with rarities from Bedouin Ascent, DJ Slip and Aphex Twin's AFX alias also featuring.
“I’ve used only completely new unreleased music or rare old tracks, and nothing in between, no current releases. The mix is an invisible bridge between the past and a future that is actually now,” Kraviz said.
“This mix is of course where I am as a DJ and record collector, but it’s also where I am as a listener and it’s what makes me groove at the moment. People call this a brain dance. This mix is a trippy acidic dream with a lot of different emotions along on the way.”
As part of the #saveourculture event series, the launch party for 'fabric 91' will be held at Great Suffolk Street Warehouse on December 3 to raise money for the club’s legal costs. The club will appeal its licence revocation on November 28. |
