As we near the turn over to the new year, rumours have begun to swirl again about the yearned for return of Daft Punk. Last week, "well-sourced information" circulated the web about Glastonbury's 2017 line up, which was said to have secured The Stone Roses and the elusive French duo as their headliners. Earlier today, Radiohead were confirmed as the first official headliners for the 2017 show. Unfortunately for the UK festival hopefuls, Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed that neither Daft Punk or The Stone Roses are on the festival's anticipated roster. "There’s no more [headliner] announcements now for a while, but I will tell you the other two that have been rumoured aren’t happening," Eavis said to NME. "Other rumours can roll and that’s fine. Pretty much everyone is rumoured every year. That’s great, but everybody was keen to get [Radiohead] out and let people know as this was such a big one." She went on to say that almost 90% of the lineup for 2017 was already sorted. "It always seems to get earlier and earlier, but I think because we’re having a year off in ’18, we’re cramming two years of music into next year." Eavis did not deny the potential other headliners (Guns 'N Roses, Kasabian, Ed Sheeran), but didn't confirm any further acts for the show.
