Crossing genres and merging the worlds of rock and roll and dance music, the latest Life and Death release features 2 strong remixes of the 4 piece band from Berlin better known as Abby. While they come from a rock background (with a major label deal already under their belts) Abby are strongly connected to the dance music underground and it's in this spirit that this collaboration with Life and Death came about. On remix duties, core Life and Death crew members, Clockwork, take to Abby's "This Song Remains Through All" and turn it into a joyful dancefloor killer. A cathartic expression of love and happiness with a driving bass guitar and emotional strings that work perfectly to frame the original vocals and concept, Clockwork's mix has already been proving itself to be quite a memorable moment in the sets of Tale of Us, DJ Tennis, Thugfucker and friends of the label who have been secretly testing it on crowds worldwide in the last few months to great response. Following on the flip side, old friend but new collaborator with Life and Death, Wraetlic aka Alex Smoke, turns his masterful ears and production skills to "Streets". Alex is widely appreciated in the dance music community (and beyond) for his deep, moody and intricate sound, sometimes stripping things back completely and then rebuilding them with an eye to detail that's well deserving of the praise he receives. His remix work here is a perfect example as he turns and twists the original into a shamanic journey that truly takes the listener on a trip that is equally well suited for the dancefloor or elsewhere. Beautiful and dark and full of the melancholy that he's well known for.
