| Nicolas Jaar and Sasha Spielberg (yes, the daughter of that Spielberg) gave us their cover of Leonard Cohen’s ‘Avalanche’ last year and now they’ve just showcased a new single called ‘Don’t Tell Me’.
Although the pair will officially release the single on April 19 to coincide with Record Store Day, it is available to stream over at Jaar’s Other People imprint (via Gorilla Vs Bear) right now.
Sonically, ‘Don’t Tell Me’ is a minimal number, fusing together looped vocals, harpsichord and cutting production. Going by the moniker Just Friends, the track marks the first time Jaar and Spielberg have collaborated since 2013’s ‘Avalanche’ and will also be released on 10” vinyl.
While Jaar clearly needs no introduction, Spielberg has been making music under the name Wardell alongside her brother Theo. |
