Wiltshire Police have recently launched its Unmanned Aviation Support Group, a fleet of drones used to help combat crime, including an “illegal rave” that occurred during the weekend. Around 100 people gathered on a plot of land near Devizes for what authorities are calling an “illegal rave”. Police “swooped” in on the location at 1am on Sunday morning. Two people were arrested, one for suspicion of selling drugs and the other for suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. The Unmanned Aviation Support Group was used in investigating the rave, sending out a tweet to update the public: "Another busy evening for the teams last night. Deployed to an illegal rave near Devizes." Drones are fast becoming more popular tools for law enforcement, with drones equipped with tasers being proposed in the US.
