There's little to say about the Dusky duo that hasn't already been expressed. The London standouts stepped out seemingly directly onto the fast track to success after releasing their 2011 debut LP. Five years later, 'Outer' has arrived to high acclaim, fully rounding out the duo's massive few years of domination across the scene with Essential Mix spotlights, headline performances and the rightful naming of Dusky as label heads, sharp talents and trusted tastemakers.
That ferocity - in both sound and ability to capture an audience - has allowed Dusky to push ahead as an all-encompassing influence rather than simply be defined by a handful of catchy tracks. 'Outer' demonstrates exactly that forethought as a rare, but appreciated collection of electronic songs built and highlighted in the traditional album format.
Dusky are on board for our latest edition of Selects, including a few choice picks from their own 'Outer' as well as other tunes they've been rinsing on the 2016 circuit.
The pair land next at Groundwater in San Diego alongside headliners like Disclosure, Justin Martin and Damian Lazarus. The inaugural festival is hosted by FNGRS CRSSD, organisers behind the successful breakout and bi-annual festival CRSSD. |
