| She's got the talent, she's got the look and she's South Beach's fastest rising it girl. Although her name may imply otherwise, there's no doubt that DJ Jessica Who? has quickly earned herself a reputation on Miami's party scene. The dynamic DJ, who has carved a niche for herself, especially with the hipster crowd, was born in Ft. Lauderdale and hails from a family of music aficionados.
She fondly recalls growing up in a household where her father's diverse music taste from Guns N' Roses to Queen, Billy Joel and Frankie Valley greatly influenced her. My dad always played music loudly…like you can hear-it-down-the-street loudly. That forced me to actually feel it and hear things I might not have normally heard in a song, she says. DJ Jessica Who? attempted the guitar during her teens, as her mother was a guitar player, but she quickly learned playing an instrument was not her forte. However, her love and passion for music prevailed and it wasn' long before she would achieve world-class DJ status.
The 5' knockout' big break came at age 17 while she was helping a DJ friend devise a set list for a gig. When he stepped away for a moment, she got on the decks, and after only a five-minute run through, impressed the club promoter so much he asked her to return the next week. It felt like I had a cold my whole life, and it suddenly cleared up, right in that moment. Everyone was dancing and singing, and I remember thinking, „ this is what I am supposed to do!' And the rest is history.
Mixing musical talent with sex appeal, DJ Jessica Who? is a regular at hotspots including LIV, Pangaea - Hard Rock, Cameo, Funkshion, Gemma Lounge, Buck 15, Purdy Lounge, Heathrow, Karu & Y, to name a few. Making her mark in a typically male-dominated field, DJ Jessica Who? has got a magnetic vibe and an energy that' bringing partygoers back for more. Fellas, step aside. |
