| It was the turn of Hot Creations man Richy Ahmed to deliver the Essential Mix last night.
Ahmed has recently become one of the key players at Jamie Jones and Lee Foss' Hot Creations imprint, with tracks like 'Sneaky Acid' causing quite a stir.
On the prospect of his mix for BBC Radio 1 being unleashed on the world, Ahmed said:
"The Essential Mix has been an integral part of my raving culture. One of the mixes that always sticks in my mind is Cassius from 1999. It was the soundtrack to lots of amazing parties back in the day, before I even dreamt about being a DJ."
"The thought of me actually doing an Essential Mix now, considering I've been listening for the last fifteen years, for a kid like me it doesn't get any better than this. Even the lads back in South Shields think this is impressive!" |
