| Snapchat rolled out a software update Thursday, a week after the company promised a security fix for its app following the leak of customer data.
The update lets customers opt out of the “Find Friends” feature, which allows people search for others by plugging in phone numbers.
Previously, customers joining the app had to decide whether to allow others to find them on Snapchat via their phone number, with no way to change the option at a later time. Now, the Find Friends feature can be turned on and off.
