| It’s more than three years since the European Union’s antitrust watchdog started looking into the way Google Inc.(GOOG +0.51%) treats rivals in its search results. As the new year begins, hopes of a settlement are dimming.
The companies that complained to the EU about Google include rival specialized search sites, online mapping companies and travel-review websites. To kick off 2014, the Initiative for a Competitive Online Marketplace (ICOMP), which brings together several of them, released a report Monday which adds to the deluge of criticism heaped on Google before the winter break. |
