| Steve Jobs, the late Apple founder, once told a group of YahooYHOO +0.76% executives that the Web giant should decide whether it’s a technology company or a media company. To anyone watching Yahoo’s keynote at the Consumer Electronics Show on Tuesday, CEO Marissa Mayer’s choice is pretty clear.
In an hour-long presentation to a packed audience at the Las Vegas Hotel theater, Mayer announced a collection of new media sites and apps geared toward delivering original content for the Web. Videos and digital magazines, the CEO said, are now two of the company’s four main focus areas along with search and communications. |
