| Deadmau5 has joined Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label, releasing a techno track under the alias of testpilot.
Entitled 'Sunspot (White Space Conflict)', the track leans on the minimal side, accompanied by a crackly, dark vocal sample, moving in the opposite direction to his releases under his regular guise.
The track becomes the first release on the imprint in around a year and a half and Hawtin believes Deadmau5 was the right producer to lead the resurgence.
In the track's press release, he said: "It’s been nearly two years since the last Plus 8 record, but it seemed fitting that this record in particular, made by another skinny white kid from Canada, became part of the label’s collection and history." |
