According to reports, internet giant Amazon is currently considering setting up its own music streaming service, much like Spotify. It is thought that should Amazon enter into streaming music to its customers, it will be offered as part of the already established Amazon Prime subscription service. Currently Prime subscribers benefit from reduced shipping prices and access to an increased television and film library, but this move would mean that Amazon would be in direct competition with the likes of Spotify, Google Play and Pandora. Although streaming music may not actually bring in huge profits for the company, it may be worth its weight in gold by making Amazon Prime seem more valuable to subscribers old and new.
