Thank God this happened after London Fashion Week, amiright? Reuters just reported that London's transport regulator has deemed Uber "unfit" to continue operating within the city, and will not be renewing its license when it expires on September 30th. Though the app has around 3.5 million users in the bustling English capital, officials cite safety and security concerns for issuing the ban, especially when it comes to reporting serious criminal offenses. Of course, there's also the rising tension between London's black cab drivers (their version of NYC yellow taxis) and Uber, the former claiming that the on-demand service has undercut their livelihoods. While the Regulator Transport for London (TfL) will allow operations to continue during what will likely be a lengthy appeals process, it seems locals need to start wetting their whistling fingers if they hope to grab a car.
