| Calling all budding producers and remixers. UK duo Lamb (pictured) and Music On Vinyl have teamed up to launch a global remix contest, giving one winner the chance to feature on a vinyl reissue of Lamb's classic album 'What Sound' and win a signed copy.
The track in question is 'Heaven' and third party samples have been forbidden to encourage entrants to create their own sounds.
Lou Rhodes, Lamb's vocalist, said: "'Heaven' felt like a good tune for a remix competition because there's a kind of clarity to the vocal melody that lends itself to musical reinterpretation. Really a remix should bring a new and different slant to the original, taking it into territories unforeseen by the original's creators."
The competition opens today at www.lambremix.com where the track's vocals, drums and bass will be available for contestants to download. To enter, upload your remix to your own SoundCloud account and add it to the competition's SoundCloud group.
Entrants must submit their remixes by June 30 before the winner is announced on August 1. Good luck! |
