Rane has officially unveiled its SEVENTY-TWO mixer after previewing it via its Facebook page last week as the prize for DMC Champion DJ Perly. The "battle-ready" mixer includes the ability for users to battle with their laptops simultaneously through two USB connection ports which also connect to the recently announced tonearm-less turntable controller, TWELVE. It also includes a 4.3" touchscreen that will work in tandem with Serato to show moving waveforms and cue points in any track. In turn the mixer contains two internal FLEX FX engines which are pre-loaded with Serato effects. Die cast effects toggles and sample pads on the front of the mixer allow users to explore their creativity even further. For the first time the SEVENTY-TWO will feature Rane’s new Mag three fader and along with its solid steel construction, should make for a sturdy product. The TWELVE controller works via a precise, multi-function touch strip for track searching and triggering hot cues, instead of tonearm and needle. The mixer will retail for $1899 and the turntable for $799 later this year.
