| In his farewell address this January, President Obama said that the "most important office in a democracy" was that of the citizen.
We wonder if he'll still be saying that after jury duty.
The former president has reportedly been called for jury duty in Chicago's Cook County, where he is registered to vote. It's unclear whether he'll be considered for criminal or civil proceedings — that will be determined once he appears in court next month. Even still, chances are high that, ultimately, he won't be selected to serve.
But if he does, he'll make $17.20 per day for his services — just like all Cook County jurors. He'll also watch this truly wonderful juror's training video, which features Lester Holt with a mustache. |
